Three careers, one goal: a child who thinks for themselves, and loves doing it.
I’ve spent 13 years in education, more than 10 years as a professional copywriter and the past three years training AI models. Each of those worlds taught me something different about how good thinking works, and where it breaks down. Together, they give me a rare perspective on how to nourish critical thinking in a way that’s radically engaging for your child.
In my program, your child learns to ask sharper questions and judge information for themselves, while chasing the subjects and passions that light them up. The crucial skills of grammar, reading and writing are never lost along the way. That’s how I prepare students for the new world.
When AI can answer almost anything in seconds, the skill that matters most is knowing what to ask and what to believe. My approach to critical thinking trains students to question sources, test claims and defend their own ideas. Here’s how each part of my background shapes it.
OCT-certified, with years at the York Region District School Board. I know how kids learn and what the curriculum expects, so I can stretch their thinking at exactly the right level without losing their motivation.
In my approach: questions that push your child one step further than they’d go on their own.Writing for brands like Kraft Heinz, SheaMoisture and ella+mila trained my eye for the sentence that drags and the idea that hasn’t quite landed.
In my approach: judging whether an idea is clear, convincing and true, in their own writing and in everything they read.I designed tests that exposed where advanced AI models fail at reasoning, knowledge and writing, for clients including OpenAI and Apple.
In my approach: knowing when to question, fact-check and challenge AI instead of simply trusting it.Critical thinking grows fastest when a child actually cares about the question. So I start with what your child loves (sports, gaming, art, science, a favourite series) and turn it into reading, debate and writing that stretches their thinking.
Underneath, the foundations are built from scratch, every time: grammar, close reading and organized writing. AI never does that part for them. Then, for families who choose Optional AI Skills, an optional add-on, students learn to put AI to the test instead of simply trusting it.
When an answer is one click away, the advantage goes to students who know which questions to ask, and how to tell a strong answer from a confident-sounding wrong one.
This is the thinking cycle behind every lesson. It keeps students engaged because they’re exploring their own ideas, and it builds the habits they’ll need for school, careers and the new world.
Tell me what your child loves and where they’re stuck. I’ll show you how we can turn both into sharper, more independent thinking.
