WHY JOIN A LIBRARY CLUB?
From an academic perspective, the library club offer an excellent opportunity for children to work on their literacy skills. In addition to reading, children will also develop their oral communication by sharing thoughts and feelings about books that they have read in the past. This excercises thier ability to communicate verbally, while also strengthening their confidence toward speaking in groups.
From a social perspective, book clubs are also excellent for helping children lead positive social interactions. By clearly communicating ideas and expressing opinions with one another, the children can feel comfortable in group-oriented learning. As learning is often a collaborative activity, children can benefit from this style of learning.
